Using ChatGPT to Get Your Custom Fix List
This is where it comes together. Once you've run your tests from Lesson 3 and have a list of issues, you're going to paste that list into ChatGPT along with your platform info and get a custom, step-by-step fix plan in about 30 seconds.
The Core Prompt
Copy this prompt and fill in the brackets with your information:
ChatGPT Prompt — Mobile Fix List
I run a [TYPE OF BUSINESS] in [CITY]. My website is built on [PLATFORM — e.g. WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, custom]. I just ran Google's PageSpeed Insights and Mobile-Friendly Test on my homepage. Here are the issues it found: [PASTE THE LIST OF ISSUES] Give me a prioritized, step-by-step fix list. For each fix, tell me: (1) whether I can do it myself or need a developer, (2) the exact steps to do it on [PLATFORM], and (3) roughly how much it should improve my mobile experience.
Prompt: Brief Your Developer
Use this when you've decided to hand fixes off:
ChatGPT Prompt — Developer Brief
Write a clear, professional brief for my web developer. My site is built on [PLATFORM]. The issues I want fixed are: [PASTE ISSUES] The brief should be plain English, list each issue, explain the desired outcome, and ask for an estimate of hours and cost. Format it as something I can paste directly into an email.
Prompt: Check If You're Missing Any Quick Wins
Use this after you've addressed the main issues:
ChatGPT Prompt — Quick Win Audit
I've fixed the main mobile issues on my [PLATFORM] website. Here's what I've done so far: [LIST WHAT YOU'VE FIXED] Are there any quick, high-impact mobile improvements I might have missed that are common for [PLATFORM] websites? Focus on things that would help both mobile user experience and Google/AI visibility.
After implementing fixes, re-run your PageSpeed Insights and Mobile-Friendly Test. Screenshot the 'before' and 'after' scores. Seeing the improvement is motivating, and it's useful documentation if you ever hand off your site to a new developer.
